My family and I had a summer trip planned this year to visit Europe and we were all so excited that we were looking up all sorts of travel videos and booking accommodations while I started creating itineraries and travel guides, etc.
Alas, we had to cancel. There’s an outbreak of COVID-19 all around the world. In Hong Kong, this outbreak comes right after a year of protests so the economy has taken a huge hit.
This results in several businesses and companies to close down and numerous employees to get laid off.
My family was also affected and so of course our travel plans had to fall through. Not to mention, Europe has even more confirmed cases and higher death toll than that of Hong Kong.
Even if we were unaffected financially, it still wouldn’t be feasible to go through with a 2-week trip that might result in 14-day quarantine periods on either end.
I was bummed out but there was nothing else to do but to just accept it and reschedule the trip for another unconfirmed date.
It seems like such a waste to forget about the potential itineraries and travel guides I’ve made though. So I decided to post them here and hopefully they’ll still come in handy when we do decide to go on a trip in the future.
Well, here’s hoping.
