ABOUT ME
I am a casual illustrator with a non-creative-related full-time job. My job pays the bills while my creative passion feeds the soul.
My signature collection among my digital illustrations is that of my ‘Phats Panels’ series, which makes up most of the visual elements displayed on this website.
Along with my digital illustrations, I also have some sporadic works in graphic design and photography. I also have a few samples of work in 3D design and videography and film editing.
ARTISTIC BACKGROUNd
Like most kids that learned to love art from a young age, my illustrative skills were honed from drawing avidly in my youth. I was heavily inspired by cartoons and anime growing up and they had in turn had a great influence on the way I drew back then.
Drawing pointy chins and sharp noses gave me an early understanding of the positioning of facial features.
The big anime eyes had me practicing at drawing the pupils, irises and incidentally enough, they also had me acknowledging the importance of adding highlights to a smooth and glossy surface.
Anime hair shows me that hair can be drawn to look like hair using shapes instead of having to draw strand by individual strand of hair.
STYLE & MEDIUM
I have developed a certain drawing style and approach when it comes to my ‘Phats Panels’ series while also continuing to explore and experiment with other styles in my other digital illustrations.
On closer view, my illustration style tends to include anime-like drawing techniques.
